Though most audiences first met Rachel McAdams in the tartly comic Mean Girls, she’s since built a career out of being the love interest perpetually stuck in a complicated or unsatisfying relationship (see: The Notebook, The Time Traveler’s Wife, and Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris, which reunited the actress with her Wedding Crashers co-star Owen Wilson). Studios believed in her drawing power enough to put her out front for the first time in the 2010 comedy Morning Glory, but it was met with mixed critical reaction and a less-than-stellar box office. Fortunately, her return to that sweet spot of star-crossed romantic pairings in The Vow (opposite an ascendant Channing Tatum) took in a major $125 million at the box office, restoring her rom-dram luster.
Rachel and the cast of crew of “About Time” were seen filming in Cornwall (UK) earlier this week (July 17). It looks like they were filming a wedding scene. Bill Nighy was also photographed on set, and we assume he will be playing Domhnall Gleeson character’s dad who taught him how to travel time.
IMDB currently list a March 23, 2013 release for the UK for the movie. The production is expected to film in Cornwall for two more weeks.
TerrenceMalick.org published an interesting article regarding “To The Wonder“. According to his source at FilmNation the “possibility of any trailer or related publicity material coming out in the fall of 2012 is still vague, possibly unlikely” but “at the most we may finally see a release date“.
The film still does not have a U.S. distributor which seems to be holding up a release date of the now-completed film. Possibly, the difficulties of The Tree of Life and its polarizing effect on the box office may be an underlying issue.
When asked for any kind of teaser image or information, I was told that there still is nothing in the public domain that they could release.
“To The Wonder” was part of the Cannes market to find distributors, people from the industry saw photographes of the movie, and is rumored to be released at Venice Film Festival this year. Luigi Lonigro, director of the Italian distributor company 01 Distribution, recently confirmed in an interview that his company got the Italian rights for the movie and that he was hoping for a “christmas release“.
The movie is completed, it currently holds a r-rating. The source at FilmNation was “referring to widespread release” so it’s still possible that the movie will be released at Venice Film Festival. Last year the line-up for the festival was announced late July.
I added lots of additional photos of Rachel on set of “About Time, including more from Rachel and co-star Domhnall Gleeson filming on Abbey Road yesterday (July 9) and some additional photos from July 4 and June 15. I also created a new album with fan photos from various days. Thanks to Christine for donating some of them!
Update: Just added over 40 more additional images of Rachel filming “About Time” on Abbey Road. Be sure to check them all out in our gallery.
The production will continue shooting in London and is also expected to move to Cornwall later this month.
Rachel was seen in the audience sitting in the Royal Box watching the Ladies’ Singles final match of Wimbledon 2012 between Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska with Michael Sheen earlier today (July 7). We added the first released photos in our gallery.
Rachel is currently in London to film the Richard Curtis directed and written movie “About Time“. She was seen earlier this week filming in west london.
Rachel was seen filming “About Time” in West London yesterday (July 4) with her co-star (and love interest in the movie) Domhnall Gleeson. She was also seen chatting with director and writer Richard Curtis. For the last few days the cast and crew were seen filming over night on location in West London. Rachel is wearing different wigs for the movie and the production is expected to wrap up mid-augustus.
It looks like they filmed two different scenes yesterday because Rachel was seen wearing two different outfits and showing off a (prosthetic) baby bump in one of them.
“About Time” filmed on location yesterday (June 29) in London during the end of the day. We only found some pictures people posted on twitter, we added them in our gallery. We credited the original posters as title. It seems like Rachel is wearing the same outfit as the first time she was spotted on set.
Rachel and the “About Time” cast and crew filmed in London for the last few weeks. They also shot scenes in the St Mary’s Hospital in London earlier this week. The production will move to Cornwall later during the production.
Don’t forgot to follow us on twitter @rachelmonline. We are trying to post on location sightings on the movie.
We added lots of high quality additions and replaced medium quality with the HQ version over the last few days in our gallery from various events Rachel attended in 2012. We tried to title them all with ‘HQ’ in our gallery, so be sure to check them out and enjoy the HQ pretty-ness.
Lots of more additions are coming soon, so be sure to look out for them in the next weeks.
“The Vow” was released on DVD/Blu-Ray in the UK today. It features the same extras as the U.S. version, go to our original post for more information on them. So if you live in the UK be sure to pick up your own copy! The Metro and Huffington Post UK released their interview with Rachel to promote the release, we added them both in our press archive.
The Vow star Rachel McAdams talks about filming with Channing Tatum, how he surprised her with a prosthetic penis and what she looks for in a man.
Rachel McAdams has found her big-screen niche as a very specific kind of fairytale heroine – a big-eyed beauty who can’t fail to bring out the protective side in her admirers, yet succeeds in keeping female fans on side, too. She could be a natural successor for the title of America’s sweetheart after a catalogue of hits – The Time Traveller’s Wife, The Notebook are the biggies – but she’s also displayed a comic turn – Sherlock Holmes, Morning Glory, Midnight in Paris.
Don’t forget to vote every day for Rachel at the Teen Choice Awards 2012. She is nominated for Choice Movie Actress: Drama and Choice Movie Actress: Romance for “The Vow“; go to TeenChoiceAwards.com to vote!
